Zero Data Uploads: We never record, transmit, or store your measurements, camera frames, or physical object dimensions.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

Unlike traditional software utilities, AI Online Ruler is designed under strict Privacy by Design principles. When using our tools:

We do not collect names, email addresses, or phone numbers unless you voluntarily submit them through our contact form.
We do not record physical items or screen captures placed against your monitor.
We do not store your exact physical location, GPS coordinates, or biometric information.

2. Client-Side Browser Storage (localStorage)

To enhance user experience and remember your screen calibration between visits, AI Online Ruler uses the standard browser localStorage API. The stored items include:

These keys are stored purely on your local machine and are never transmitted to our servers. You can erase them at any time by clearing your browser cache and site cookies.

3. WebGL Hardware Queries & Device Profiling

Our automatic calibration heuristic inspects your browser's native JavaScript properties (such as window.screen.width, window.screen.height, window.devicePixelRatio, and the WebGL unmasked GPU renderer string) solely to match your screen with factory display database presets in real-time. This inspection occurs entirely in client memory and is never logged to an external database.

4. Global Privacy Framework Compliance (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, CalOPPA)

Under the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), users possess rights regarding their personal data:
